Smartlipo™ is an innovative and major advancement in the field of body contouring. Since 1987 Dr. Dolsky has used tumescent infiltration anesthesia as part of every liposuction procedure. In 1982 Dr. Dolsky introduced liposuction to the Delaware Valley including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware he has taught liposuction techniques to thousands of other physicians in more than 20 countries around the world. In 1987 Doctor Jeffrey Klein, the inventor of tumescent liposuction was Dr. Dolskys guest at the Philadelphia World Congress of Liposuction sponsored by the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery & the American Society of Liposuction Surgery. In 1995 Dr. Dolsky was Chairman of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery task force committee and traveled to Europe and South American to investigate that technique. Soon after visiting the major centers in the world, he and his colleges provided important research on the utilization of that procedure.
 
As an innovator and leader in the field of cosmetic surgery Dr. Dolsky seeks to provide his patients the with most up to date and safest techniques to be utilized to improve their appearance and body contour. In 2007 Smartlipo™ was the first laser to be approved by the FDA for fat dissolution. This laser technology targets red blood cells and as a result there is less blood loss. In addition the laser energy dissolves fat so that the liquid contents of the fat may be removed by suctioning. Smartlipo™ either by itself or in combination with traditional liposuction techniques removes fat, improves skin smoothness and tightens the skin.
 
Smartlipo™ is different in that it uses a carefully calibrated laser to liquefy fat deposits through the top layers of the patients skin. The laser actually ruptures the individual fat cells. The result in a highly liquefied adipose tissue substance is then removed by a tiny pin point incisions in the skin by suctioning. The Smartlipo™ laser can also seal blood vessels as it melts fat so there is frequently less swelling, bleeding a bruising than with regular liposuction.

Touch up and revisions: Smartlipo™ is a excellent tool for providing touch up or revision procedures who have had previous liposuction using traditional techniques. The laser can be used to sculpture & contour areas of the body that have loose skin. Tightening of the skin is especially true in relatively thin patients who want toning and tightening.
 
Out Patient surgery: Smartlipo™ is performed in an outpatient facility. There is no requirement of hospitalization.
 
Does Smartlipo™ hurt: Smartlipo™ is performed utilizing tumescent local anesthesia. Post operatively there is very little discomfort.
 
How long does smart lipo take: It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour for each area that is treated. Depending upon the number of areas that are treated with Smartlipo™ it may take as long as 3 to 4 hours.
