Microdermabrasion

The MegaPeel microdermabrasion services we offer at our Philadelphia practice consist of a non-surgical, non-chemical and non-invasive method of skin resurfacing. MegaPeel microdermabrasion is one of the most natural ways to enhance your skin without the use of harsh lasers and chemicals. MegaPeel microdermabrasion is a technique that uses very fine crystal powder to resurface the superficial layers of the skin. Fine aluminum oxide micro crystals are blown onto the skin and suctioned away. The gentle buffing removes the top layers of dead skin. Acne, blackheads, superficial lines, and superficial flaws are significantly reduced. The technique exfoliates the skin, removing the superficial dead cells to allow the production of new skin, collagen and elastin. Microdermabrasion offered at our Philadelphia office can minimize the appearance of wrinkles, scars, sun damage, and active acne with minimal discomfort and recovery time. Microdermabrasion leaves your skin smooth and clean - blackheads are loosened, white heads are removed, hyper pigmentation lightens; acne scars, enlarged pores, and epidermal wrinkles become less prominent.

BOTOX® Cosmetic

At Cosmetic Surgery of Philadelphia, all BOTOX® and RESTYLANE® treatments are personally performed by Dr. Dolsky. We do not allow nurses, assistants, or technicians to inject our patients. To ensure your complete safety and satisfaction with your procedure, you should not accept treatment by anyone but a board certified cosmetic plastic surgeon like Dr. Dolsky. He has the experience you can trust. In Philadelphia and around the globe, BOTOX® Cosmetic has been used for more than ten years as an effective way of reducing fine lines and wrinkles on the skin. The popularity of BOTOX® Cosmetic has been attributed to its dramatic, rapid results and minimal side effects. Results usually last from 4 to 6 months, at which time patients may return for subsequent treatments at our Philadelphia office. BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used with either Restylane® or Radiesse™ to enhance overall results.

Botox® is the trademarked name of Botulinum Toxin Type A, a purified toxin produced by the bacterium clostridium botulinum. This protein toxin, injected in small doses, blocks nerve impulses, creating paralysis of the affected site and consequently reducing the appearance of frown lines, a furrowed brow or ‘crow’s feet’. Botox® has been purified and specially prepared for medical use and has been safely and effectively used for many years.

Crows Feet, Forehead Wrinkles, Neck Folds, Frown Lines

Wrinkles can be caused by varying factors including age and exposure to sun. One of the most significant contributing factors to wrinkles is repetitive facial contractures resulting in crows feet, frown lines and forehead wrinkles. Botox® is very effective in the treatment of wrinkles caused by these repetitive facial contractures.

The corrugator muscle, the muscle responsible for the frown line between the eyebrows, is often the site of Botox® injections. This frown line will begin to fade as the muscle is paralyzed and unable to contract. The treatment only takes a few minutes in Dr. Dolsky’s office and the Botox® will take effect in three to four days. Over three to four months the Botox® will begin to fade and the muscle action will begin to return. As the line begins to reappear, a repeat treatment is all that is needed to maintain results.

The side effects associate with Botox® are related to the local injection – there may be slight discomfort from the needle entering the skin and a slight chance of a bruise at the injection site. There have been no documented, permanent side effects from using Botox®.

Patients often choose to combine Botox® treatment with laser resurfacing, face lift or eyelid surgery to further enhance results.

NOTE: Botox® should only be injected by a physician trained in the use of the product, such as Dr. Dolsky.

Facial Peels

Glycolic Acid Peels

Our alpha hydroxy fruit acid therapy can rejuvenate skin and improve hyperpigmentation, enlarged facial pores and superficial acne scars. In some cases, such as those involving stretch marks and facial sun damage, glycolic acid peels can be combined with microdermabrasion for more impressive results.

Your skin will look smoother and healthier.

Medium Peels

Medium peels are used primarily for fine wrinkles and skin discolorations. Medium peels use TCA (trichloro acetic acid) to treat deeper lines and uneven pigmentation. Recovery takes about one week. TCA is one of the most effective treatments for dark, irregular pigmentation.

Phenol Peels

A phenol peel is the deepest, most intense facial peel. A phenol peel can eliminate most lines and produce an overall lightening of the skin. This procedure requires a lengthier recovery period than other facial peels.

Restylane®

At Cosmetic Surgery of Philadelphia, all BOTOX® and RESTYLANE® treatments are personally performed by Dr. Dolsky. We do not allow nurses, assistants, or technicians to inject our patients. To ensure your complete safety and satisfaction with your procedure, you should not accept treatment by anyone but a board certified cosmetic plastic surgeon like Dr. Dolsky. He has the experience you can trust. Restylane® is a derivative of hyaluronic acid, a natural compound in the human body that keeps the skin firm. Restylane® injections provide a safe, fast and effective treatment to enhance lips, and reduce wrinkles and nasal labial folds. This procedure produces results that can last from four to eight months. Treatment usually takes approximately 30 minutes, and there is no downtime or recovery period. Some patients choose to return to work immediately following treatment.
